Make sure the speakers are switched on
what you are about to hear is very shocking
The above link is an advert for a guy named Andrew Lewis's book, I don't endorse it and certainly don't think you should buy it, but the first half of the presentation is useful as it does point out what goes in to pet foods and the damaging affect these products can have on your dog. I also do not endorse a 'home cooked diet' Dogs are carnivores and shouldn't be fed like this............
You can read about what goes on in a typical rendering plant below, just click the link provided.
If you found that shocking or upsetting then I apologise, but the message has to be driven home as we have been so manipulated into thinking that we are doing the best we can for our dogs, when generally we are killing them.
The good news is that there are different legislations in place in different countries, this link is an American one, and yet you only have to read to work of Ann Martin in 'food our pets die for' to know that similar things are going on in our own country.
OK ........so if raw feeding is so great, then WHY hasn't my vet told me about it ?
WHY are 60 % of minor illnesses being treated with lotions, potions, pills and creams INSTEAD of a simple change of diet?
WHY if my Vet's purpose in life is to keep my pet healthy would he then promote a commercial food which could be damaging to my dog?
WHY IS IT ON SALE IN HIS SURGERY ??!!
WHY indeed !!??
It's not entirely their fault, you see nutrition is an elective class and that means that it is not compulsory, not many vets will specialise in nutrition and so the vast majority go on to recieve their education on canine nutrition ...by.....wait for it.......yes you guessed right....... a representive from the pet food industry !!!
The vast majority of Vets are not trained in natural nutrition ?? !!
How can that be possible ?? How can they then determine if an illness is truly medical or diet related ?
The truth is they can't !! or won't and as a result of this, not only are they making money from the pet food they are promoting, they are actually storing up future customers, who in time will probably develope some diet related illness.
Even some of the vets who are aware of the feeding problem.....
May still be unwilling to endorse a diet which apparently now holds so much contoversy, we are living in a day and age where people are sueing each other for all kinds of things........There can be mistakes made with this diet which can also be damaging to a dog's health, alot of vet's would not be prepared to take the responsibility, they are just happy handing out the commercial food, it is easier, less fuss and requires alot less effort on their part as the instructions are on the bag/box/tin, the responsibility is taken out of their hands, will you also deny responsibility for your pet's nutritional requirements??....or will you take the time to discover the benefits that this diet truly contains...will you spare you best friend the time it takes to learn about the correct way to feed this diet? or will you carry on with the commercial?
Digest the information on this site, follow the links, decide for yourself..........
It's a never ending circle....And one which can only be broken by feeding your dogs a diet that they were born to eat, a natural diet that will let your pet reach it's potential regarding health........don't get caught in the circle !!!
