The Dog's Dinner - by Ann Ridyard

Raw feeding for dogs

Ann Ridyard

Is primarily a wife, mother and pet owner who discovered the benefits raw feeding brought to her beloved dogs.  She is not a vet, nor is she qualified in any kind of animal husbandry, her qualification is drawn from her experience.

Ann has owned German Shepherds for nearly 30 years, during which time she swapped her own commercially fed dogs onto raw and became so interested and passionate about the diet she went on to write The Dog's Dinner books, the latest revisited edition published November, 2011.

The books along with this site, which has evolved over a number of years, have helped many, many owners take the plunge and swap to raw.  The information contained in Ann's book and this site is her interpretation of how a raw diet should be fed, tweaked over a number of years and tried and tested on hundreds of dogs, involving several generations.

Ann invites you to adopt her methods or refine a method of your own, as if the basic principals of this diet are adhered to she believes there are many ways it can be fed sucessfully.

Her strengths lie in being able to swap owners from a commercial to raw method of feeding and start them off on their raw journey safely.

She strongly believes that continued research of this diet by all owners is extremely important and urges owners to sieze back the responsibility of their dog's nutritional requirements from their vets and the pet food manufacturers.

Ann found her own pathway through the maze we call the raw diet, as she too was overwhelmed at the conflicting advice there seemed to be regarding 'the correct' way this diet should be fed.  It is this she would like to share with you, she hopes that when you have read her book, or made use of this site that you will begin to question what you are feeding your own dog and will have the strong urge to give your own dog his identity back and feed him the diet he was born to eat.

Ann now works as a personal advisor to owners wanting to swap their own dogs over and can often be found consulting with owners in the family run grooming/feeding business, owned by Ann and her husband Chris, called Designer Dogs, which is based on the Wirral Penisula, in Wallasey.  DESIGNER DOGS
